  The Townsend Firemen’s Wives was originally created as an extension of the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department to provide fundraising support and bolster firefighting capabilities. As time has passed, the organization wanted to welcome all community members, not just firefighter’s families. In keeping with this premise, Friends of Townsend Fire (FOTF) has become a 501©3 non-profit organization with a mission to assist the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department and the communities they serve, as a tax-exempt organization assisting in fundraising and community activities. This change takes affect January 1st, 2024.

Membership in FOTF is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, who wishes to assist the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department and the communities they serve. If you would like to learn more about FOTF and how you can help, join, contact us at:

 Friends of Townsend Fire is funded through donations from individuals, corporations, and fund raising events. Please visit our website to learn more about how you can support our organization.

  The current major fundraising activities underway will be used to assist the Town of Townsend, and the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department in the purchase of a new Fire Engine, in which FOTF has committed a $60,000 pledge. In addition, FOTF will continue to support the continuing education of our firefighters to ensure their safety and preparedness to serve the communities.
